Celebrity Snippets: Random Bits of Entertainment News 6/21

A celebrity break up, a shocking wedding, and a horrible car accident claims the life of a popular MTV series star.

  • Reports are swirling that Paris Hilton and her beau Cy Waits have called it quits on their relationship.  Sources tell Us Weekly: “[Cy’s] found it difficult to live his life with her in the spotlight and that’s what caused their split. No drama, it’s amicable, but things didn’t work out.”  The two have been dating for around a year.

  • 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison (Green Mile, X-Files) married Courtney Stodden, a 16-year-old aspiring country singer.  “We’re aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial. But we’re very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless.”  Controversial isn’t the word I would use, but I’ll keep that particular word to myself since this is a family site.

  • Chris Lambton and Peyton Wright,  former “contestants” on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, are engaged.  Chris shared:  “I love her and I’m so happy to be with her. And you know what, two good things came from this show: one, meeting Peyton and two, the strong friendships I made. I have no regrets about doing the show.

  • Ryan Dunn, star of MTV’s “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam”, was killed in a car crash in Pennsylvania yesterday morning.  Van Toffler, President of MTV’s Music/Film group released a statement yesterday:  “We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn – a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade.  He made us all laugh and had the tireless enthusiastic approach to life of your favorite middle school friend. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Ryan’s family and friends. The Jackass brotherhood will never be the same.”
