How To Make Outdoor Party Placemats to Match Any Theme

I love hosting dinner parties for my friends and family during the spring and summertime! It’s always a great time for kids to play together while the adults get to mingle. I have fun setting up a table outside with bright florals and patterned tablecloths. This easy and fun DIY is the perfect element to spice up the casual BBQ or to personalize an intimate event.

If you’re having trouble finding placemats to match a party’s theme, this is a perfect project. You can create these placemats with any fabric or wallpaper you like.They’re a quick and easy craft project, and can be used again and again!

Supplies:

  • Cork board in either a circle or rectangular shape
  • Sponge paintbrush
  • Mod-Podge
  • Mod-Podge sealer 
  • Fabric or thick wallpaper
  • Pen or pencil
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Step 1: Trace your cork board along the back side of your fabric or wallpaper.

Step 2: Cut along the lines.

Step 3: Paint your Mod-Podge onto the top of the cork.

Step 4: Place your cut fabric/wallpaper onto the cork. Make sure you smooth it out so it lies flat.

Step 5: (optional) Seal the layer with Mod-Podge top coat.
