Ingredients:

  • assorted chocolate molds for Easter Bunnies or other shapes
  • milk chocolate for melting
  • white chocolate for melting
  • lollipop sticks (optional)
  • ribbon (optional)
  • Your favorite candy filling, homemade or purchased (peanut butter, jelly, cream, chocolate, ganache)

Ingredients for Peanut Butter Cream Filling:

  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)

Preparation:

Step 1: Melt the chocolates according to the package directions. If you’re using the microwave to melt your chocolate, only set the timer for 15 to 30 seconds at a time, and stir in between.

Step 2: To make solid milk chocolate bunnies pour the melted chocolate slowly into the mold until the chocolate is level with the top of the mold. Give the filled mold a gentle shake to level the top and to get out any air bubbles. Set the mold aside to let the chocolate cool and harden. Some molds are double, fill each side, then quickly close the mold together to hold the chocolate in.

Step 3: To make Chocolate Easter Bunnies with candy filling pour a small amount of chocolate into the bottom of the mold. Tilt the mold from side to side until the entire shape is filled with a thin layer of chocolate all the way to the top edge. Set the mold aside to cool and harden.

Step 7 (optional): Add pops of color to your chocolates by adding food coloring to white chocolate. Use a new paint brush, or a paint brush used exclusively for food, or a toothpick to brush on a little color with the melted chocolates. You can brush the colors onto the finished chocolates, or brush the colors in the mold before you fill it with chocolate.
