Elisabeth Röhm, our December guest editor. This month, the SAG award-winning actress will be seen in the new movie Joy, opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro. (The actors all appeared on screen together in 2013’s American Hustle.) She also recently wrapped production on the thriller Blood Father, co-starring Mel Gibson; it's slated for release later this year. Other recent film credits include Transit, Chlorine, Officer Down, Abduction, and Miss Congeniality 2. Röhm is known for her TV roles as well, most notably as A.D.A Serena Southerlyn on NBC’s “Law & Order,” and detective Amanda Taylor on the CBS drama “Stalker.”

The German-American actress was raised in New York City. At Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, she fell in love with acting. After earning her degree, she worked on the soap opera “One Life to Live,” followed by recurring appearances on the WB’s “Angel.” She went on to star in the ABC drama “Big Shots,” as well as appear in NBC's “Heroes,” the CW's “Beauty and the Beast,” and Lifetime TV’s “The Client List.”

Additionally, Röhm published a book about her struggles with infertility, Baby Steps: Having the Child I Always Wanted (Just Not How I Expected), in 2013. She supports The Red Cross, The Go Red Foundation, and Healthy Child Healthy World.

Röhm resides in Los Angeles with her daughter, Easton August, 7.
